At Acosta Verde we recognize sustainability as a key axis for our operation, thus generating economic, social and environmental value and contributing to the wellbeing of the communities where we operate. For the third consecutive year, Acosta Verde, S.A.B. de C.V. shares with all stakeholders the results of the environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) performance.

In addition to this document, the 2022 Annual Sustainability Report will be published, which was prepared taking into consideration the indicators of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework.




/ ESG Strategy

Acosta Verde has an ESG Strategy that consolidates efforts and ambitions in the issues that are most relevant to the Company and its stakeholders.

The ESG Strategy is composed of four strategic pillars: Sendero resiliente (Resilient Sendero), Acosta Verde contigo (Acosta Verde with you), Sendero Verde (Green Sendero) and Siempre integro (Integrity at all times); each of these pillars has several areas. As a result of the Materiality Study conducted in 2020, 8 of these areas are considered material issues for our operation



/ Environmental

Through the focus of being a resilient Company to the climate change impact, we have efficiently managed natural resources in the operation of the portfolio.

Energy

Fossil fuel electricity is used to supply energy and lighting to the common areas of Plazas Sendero. The total energy consumption in 2022 was 99,790 GJ.




Emissions

The Greenhouse Gas and Compound Emissions (GHG) inventory was made to calculate the carbon footprint associated with the Company's activity. In 2022, the Company ́s carbon footprint totaled 13,353 tCO2e.

Water

During 2022, 478,388 m3 of water were consumed, equivalent to 478 megaliters. Out of this consumption, 49,779 m3 were reused for irrigating green areas, and the 428,609 m3 remaining were discharged into the municipal drainage system in accordance with the applicable normativity.


Waste

The waste generated in the Plazas Sendero comes mostly from tenants' operations and visitors' activity. In 2022, Acosta Verde's non-hazardous waste amounted to 5,454 tons, of which 363 tons of cardboard were recycled.






/ Social


Employees

Acosta Verde's employees are characterized by their talent, professionalism and experience, representing the most important asset for the Company's success.

At the end of 2022, the Company was integrated by 327 employees, of whom 135 are women and 192 are men.

The Company has policies that promote labor rights, human rights, diversity and inclusion, and freedom of association and collective negotiation, it also rejects any form of harassment, discrimination, forced or child labor.


Training and development

Training and development of employees is one of the key topics of the ESG strategy. We consider that by providing knowledge and developing new skills, we are empowering capable, collaborative and productive teams by encouraging the growth of the organization and employees. During 2022, 13,065 hours of training were provided.

Health and safety

The well-being, health and security of our employees and the people that may be affected in our operation is a priority aspect for Acosta Verde. We have the commitment of providing a safe and healthy environment in our workplaces that allows for the integral development of our employees.

Likewise, the NOM-035 guidelines are fulfilled to identify, analyze, and prevent psychosocial risk factors and promoting a favorable organizational environment in the workplace, for this reason during 2022 Acosta Verde carried out a survey, where 100% of the employees participated, with the objective of identifying psychosocial risks and evaluating their impacts.

Community engagement

In 2022, we continue our commitment of carrying out actions that allow to improve living standards of our visitors and neighbors of Plazas Sendero.

This year more than 40 initiatives were carried out, for a total of more than 220 community engagement events replicated in various of the portfolio's shopping centers. Healthcare, inclusion and support to vulnerable groups, development of job opportunities, environmental care, information diffusion, among others, were promoted.

In 2022 we continued supporting the communities in which we operate and in collaboration with health authorities, Plazas Sendero were a COVID-19 vaccination center, where 330,258 doses were applied during the year.
